Abstract :
exploring of Surosowan Palace

Target audience :
15-21 years old

Goal:
The goal of this application is to allow user to experience how the looks of Surosowan palace was in late 1500.
Because the Surosowan Palace is desolate, and there's only a little bit of ruins left there. so to make people know how's surosowan palace looks like in late 1500, this virtual application is created.
This virtual application allow user to see and explore how the Surosowan Palace in late 1500. User will be able to interact with some of the pictures or the object inside the application and know what is the history behind it.

history:

Surosowan Palace is a palace in Banten. This Palace was built around the year 1522-1526 during the reign of the first Sultan of Banten, Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin and reputedly alsoinvolvesbuilding experts from the Netherlands, namely Lucasz Cardeel Hendrik, a Dutch architect who converted to Islam that bear the title Prince Wiraguna. Surosowan like a sturdy Dutch fort with bastions (corner diamond-shaped fort) in the four corners of the building. Buildings within the palace walls are no longer intact, Leaving only debris and foundation walls.
Surosowan Palace has three entrance gates, each located on the north side, east, and south.. At the center of the palace there is a building containing a pool of green water, which is filled with algae and moss. In this place also have space inside the palace are associated with water or a pool. One of the famous is theformerpond garden, named "Bale Kambang Rara Denok". There is also a shower for bathing so-called "pancuran mas".
Rara Denok is rectangular pool with a length of 30 meters and 13 meters wide and 4.5 meters depth pool. There are two sources of water in surosowan, it's located in the wells and Lake Tasikardi located about two kilometers from Surosowan.

Objectives :
- To immerse user through visual and audio effects inside the Palace
- To understand the history of Surosowan Palace
- To understand what is Surosowan Palace used for
- To allow user to know how the Surosowan palace looks like in the late 1900
- To teach people about preserving the historical places.


Description :
On the starting page, user start VR application, then there will be a brief introduction of the application and also a list of instruction on how the user can navigate and interact with the object within the application.
then you start the application, and starting from the gate of Surosowan Palace, from there user can walk into the Palace and start exploring the Palace. all the environment inside the application is mimicking the old Surosowan Palace looks like, with all the things inside it.

interaction description
- user will be able to navigate the world through arrow keys, or W,S,A,D button on the keyboard
- user can see an interactive map and their present location
- when user walks to a certain place, there will be a voice narration/text message about that place
- when user click a clickable object, then an information about the object will shown to the user, whether it is a video, image, or a story.
- user can tell whether the object is clickable or not.
